Despite liability having been admitted, the Defendant insurer failed to make any reasonable settlement offers. As a result, we commenced court proceedings and prepared comprehensive evidence in support of our client’s claim. This included a seven-figure Schedule of Loss detailing the substantial past and future financial losses arising from the accident.
The claim progressed through the litigation process in accordance with the Court’s directions, with both parties exchanging expert evidence and witness statements. A Joint Settlement Meeting (JSM) was subsequently arranged in an effort to resolve the matter without the need for a trial.
Following robust negotiations at the JSM, we successfully secured a seven-figure settlement for our client shortly before the matter was due to proceed to trial.
The settlement will provide our client with long-term financial security and ensure that he can continue to access the care, treatment, accommodation and prosthetic support he requires in the future.
